ABOUT ME

I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, and doula.

I am caring, helpful, passionate, and adventurous.

I love learning new things and teaching.

I am honest, loyal and trustworthy, very organized and love to plan!

I am proud of myself for starting on a new journey at age 45.  I try to lead by example, showing my two daughters that you can accomplish anything if you work hard at it, that you should always stand up for what you believe in, and that kindness is most important.

My worst habits are that I can be lazy, and I tend to procrastinate!  Planning something comes easily, doing it is another story, but I always follow through on my promises.  I swear a lot,  and am usually the one to say out loud what others are thinking but have the sense to keep it in their heads!  I’m certainly not perfect.

The biggest obstacle I have ever faced is overcoming a battle with anxiety and depression 12 years ago.  It was the worst time in my life, but I learned so much about myself and what is important in life, that I think of it as a blessing.  I truly understand mental health issues, and have a passion for advocating for mental health.

My biggest fear is dying without getting to say goodbye.

I love to relax by doing art, reading, listening to music and travelling.  I am most at peace while snorkeling in the ocean with the hot sun on my back, marvelling at the beauty of the world underwater.

If I wasn’t a doula I would love to be an interior designer, professional traveller and food taster, baby-namer or therapist.

My goal is to continue to be a birth doula, complete my postpartum training and become a childbirth educator.  I want to raise awareness of maternal health issues, and empower women to advocate for birth choices, to help them create positive birth memories, and to support families of all kinds in their journeys.

They will always be my babies!
