WHAT DOES A DOULA DO?
A doula is a uniquely trained professional who will help you plan and prepare for your birth. A doula will support you and your partner physically and emotionally throughout your labour, providing comfort measures and evidence-based information to help you make decisions and advocate for yourself. A doula provides continuous care, and will also support you with your first bonding experiences with your baby, including breastfeeding.
WHY DO YOU NEED A DOULA?
Research shows that mothers who have the support of a doula are more satisfied with their birth experience, feel increased self-esteem, have better bonding and breastfeeding experiences, have shorter labour, less risk of caesarean birth and less use of interventions!
WHAT DOES A DOULA COST?
Having a doula is an investment into ensuring you the best birth possible. I offer a standard package for birth services, but am willing to customize and work within your budget. Check out my Services page!
Educate Empower Embrace
My passion for both learning and teaching, my desire to help others, and natural love for all things baby are what drew me to a career as a doula. My goal is simple….to Educate, Empower and Embrace my clients so that they feel safe and supported during their birth, and that they are able to look back on their birth with the happiest memories.

When my husband and I decided we wanted to experience a home birth for our second child, it was without a doubt that we wanted a doula there with us. When we met Elizabeth, it was genuine and kind. It was as if we had known each other forever. She even created a familiar bond with our 2 year old, which made the decision very simple for us. When I went into labour, amongst all the craziness and anxiety, I vividly remember Elizabeth walking into the house with a huge smile on her face. That alone was comforting to me instantly. Throughout the entire labour, she was consistent and extremely calm. Even during the hardest parts (screaming and cursing) she maintaned such a calm demeanor. Whichever type of birth you decide, whether it is at home or at the hospital, the support people around you is the most important thing. Thanks to our amazing midwives and our outstanding doula, our sonś birth will forever be one of the most spiritual and beautiful moments of our lives. Elizabeth will always be in our hearts.

During my second pregnancy I knew I wanted the support of a doula. My first pregnancy ended with an extremely traumatic labour experience that ultimately ended up in an emergency C-section. After being approved for a VBAC by my midwives and doctors I knew it was so important to have the mental and emotional support during my second labour. During our journey to find a doula we had multiple meetings to find our match and when we met Elizabeth we knew we had found a very important part of our birth plan. Her caring and nurturing nature put me completely at ease. She listened and understood my anxieties and leading up to my birth she reassured me without hesitation anytime I reached out. I had a week of early labour that Elizabeth showed up multiple times to be with us. We walked together, sat together, talked for hours. This person who we had known such a short time just fit into our family home so perfectly. Her compassion for my 5 year old son and her ability to make me feel safe was more than I could have hoped for. The evening I went into labour she was with me from the very start, counting contractions, rubbing my back, and just being completely present with me. We headed to the hospital and as my labour intensified Elizabeth supported myself and my husband for the full 12 plus hours we were there. She literally help me up and massaged me during every single contraction. She held my hand as I pushed, rubbed my hair out of my face, and supported me every step of the way. She was a piece of the puzzle that we needed to bring our daughter into the world. I will forever remember her smile, touch and positive outlook when I look back on bringing our daughter earth side and I will be grateful forever that she was a part of this healing journey for our family.
